Thanksgiving 2009

This year my parent's decided to come and visit us for Thanksgiving. Not only did my parent's come, but my brother with his wife and another brother with his fiance all came as well. They weren't going to be able to make it to our home until late Wednesday night, which meant I did all of the prep for the food by myself. I have made several turkey dinners in the past, but this was the first time I made EVERYTHING to go with it including; turkey, mashed potatoes, candied yams, pretzel jello salad, rolls, stuffing, gravy, and everything else. Oh, and dessert too. It was a busy few days getting ready and lots of baking, but oh so much fun! It was so great to have family here for a few days and to be able to enjoy time together.

Of course because we were hosting so many people this year and we didn't have enough room at our table, that gave us an excuse to buy a new dining room table which I've been wanting to get for some time now. It seats 8 people...which I LOVE! Since we were hosting dinner for a total of 8 adults and 1 child, we brought our breakfast table into the dining room which was perfect height for the dining room table, which gave us enough room for everyone. Aside from the yummy food, we had a great time visiting, playing guitar hero, visiting craft boutiques, movies, shopping and visiting Temple Square to see the Christmas lights. We also took Grandma and Grandpa to a nearby pond so we could take pictures of them. They turned out so cute. Logan enjoyed the extra attention from everyone and can't wait to visit with Grandma and Grandpa again when they come to visit a few days after Christmas.
